An inspiring scent of tangy citrus and sensitive floral notes. Surprisingly, bitter yet sweet pomelo peel rises to the nose at the beginning, awakening your full presence. Delicate notes of flattering hawthorn blossom, lovely tuberose and weightless paradisone underscore the freshness of the citrus notes and allow the fragrance to float on your skin. The tart arrangement of warm cork, strong grapefruit and animalic musk give this positive fragrance a soft scent aura in which you can unfold freely.

Behind the Fragrance

Grapefruit Generation is inspired by an inspired time. The sixties: a generational shift when something opened up for a bit and timeless ideas reemerged. Interest in Eastern poetry, Indian music, psychedelics, and outward exploration primed us for a shift towards inner exploration (whether or not it worked is up for debate!). One place to find some of this magic is in Yoko Ono's Grapefruit, which invites the reader to perform rituals in terse Zen koan-like phrases. GG celebrates the exploration of a mythic Eastern garden where a quixotic freshness unfolds many layers of fruits, flowers, leaves, and musk, (and gems and colors and generations generating generations).

D.S. & Durga is a Brooklyn-based brand whose fragrances tell stories that transport you to faraway places. Each fragrance is a fragment of half-remembered myths of pioneers, frontierswomen and cowboys, imaginary landscapes, saloons and workbenches that invite discovery. According to the founders, the art of a perfume lies not only in the quality but also in the handling of the individual components. D.S. stands for David Seth Moltz, who taught himself how to make perfume. He lives his passion for transforming musical and literary spaces into fragrances. This also means that every single fragrance is conceived and constructed in-house by D.S. & Durga themselves, i.e. without intermediaries or interpretation by external perfumers. Kavi (aka Durga) designs everything around the fragrances. By thinking in terms of angles, light, shadow and texture, she creates clarity in form and function. Through this constellation, everything the couple loves about music, art, nature and design is told in detail aromatically. All the fragrances are invisible soundtracks that you can wear on your body throughout the day. The more you know about the stories and events, the deeper you dive into the world inside the bottle. The story, unexpected and novel combinations are the core of the aromatic vision.
