The sky is a thick copper hue, painted in bands of honey, cloves and amber. Below the horizon, sweet basil drifts from dark cedar trees embedded with tobacco leaves beneath the bark. The air is smokey, spicy and slightly sweet. The mouth creases into a small simper as the presence of fragrance is taken in, draws deep into the body and spreads a pleasant feeling.

Kerosene Fragrances is an US indie perfume label founded by John Pegg. John is probably anything but an ordinary perfumer. He comes from Michigan, which is next to the car and working-class city of Detroit, where he grew up and worked in factory buildings.
