Atelier Materi: Perfumes with a Breton Soul
Rugged cliffs and the sound of the sea: the raw nature of Brittany runs through the veins of perfumer, designer, and architect Véronique Le Bihan. Having grown up there, she carried memories of rolling landscapes with her until they became tangible again as the inspiration behind her fragrance house, Atelier Materi. With her multidisciplinary background, Le Bihan brought all her skills into the niche perfume brand, creating a holistic concept – from scent composition to bottle design.
At the heart of every Atelier Materi creation lies the expressive power of a single ingredient. From vanilla to oregano, the main note is placed at the center before being carefully surrounded by complementary accords. In this way, Le Bihan and her perfumer partners develop complex layers that reveal the protagonist ingredient in ever-evolving facets. The fragrances stand as a testament to exceptional craftsmanship, achievable only by the finest noses in the industry.
The bottles reflect Le Bihan’s architectural sensibility: deep blue glass with a clean, structured aesthetic reminiscent of seawater after a storm. The Eau de Parfums are finished with concrete caps, while the Extrait de Parfums feature gold-plated closures – crafted in France and Germany.
