D.S. & Durga is the ultimate example of a creative “meet-cute” that actually worked: David Seth Moltz (D.S.) started his career as a musician. Everything he knows about perfumes is self-taught. To him, notes aren’t just smells – they’re like musical tones, individual elements that come together in unique harmony.
His wife, Kavi Ahuja Moltz (Durga), is a trained architect and the creative force behind the brand’s visual identity. She thinks in angles, light, shadow, and texture – bringing clarity to both form and function, from each package design to the entire look of the brand.
Since founding the label in 2008, the duo has been rooted in New York City. Their first perfumes were born in a Bushwick apartment, and that raw, urban energy continues to shape the brand today. Middlemen or external perfumers? Not here. Every D.S. & Durga scent is composed by David, visually brought to life by Kavi.
