Fragrance with Heritage: BDK Parfums
If Jesus received gold, frankincense, and myrrh at birth, then David Benedek was gifted top, heart, and base notes. The founder of BDK Parfums was practically born with a nose for scent: after World War II, his grandparents sold perfume in Paris to travelers and American soldiers, who brought the fragrant souvenirs back home. Their success soon led to a perfumery of their own, right across from the Louvre – and you’d be hard-pressed to find a better location than the 1st arrondissement.
This was the world Benedek grew up in – surrounded by Dior, Revillon, and Lalique. He started off studying economics and mathematics, but the pull of perfumery proved stronger. He enrolled in a perfumery course at the Institut Français de la Mode, Paris’ elite fashion and design school – because what could be more fascinating than the art of fragrance composition? In 2016, at just 25 years old, he founded BDK Parfums and began conquering the niche perfume world like a fragrant Napoleon. Vive la fragrance!

BDK Parfums is a heartfelt homage to Benedek’s hometown of Paris. Each fragrance tells its own story – from the bustle of a lively arrondissement to a solitary evening in a quiet Parisian café.
