The year is 1678 – noble ladies and gentlemen make their way to the weekly court ball in the king’s palace. A moment long past, distilled into a fragrance that reinterprets it anew. The opening reveals caramelized bergamot, sharpened by the presence of aged wood. At its heart, cognac and iris concrete unfold into a dark, spicy harmony. Anchored by oak and tonka bean, the composition evokes the sensation of a freshly oiled ballroom floor.

"Baroque music has been a fixture in my life since I was very young. Many a morning I woke up to Royal Fireworks or Lully's Te Deum. When we were kids, my sister and I hated it. But in college I fell hard for classical music. It has become a constant in the background of my life. I like to think about the wild soirées that must have taken place at the court of Louis the Sun King: Bacchanalian bliss with baroque tunes that now sound quite prim and proper. We need to start having parties like that again."

Kavi (aka Durga) designs everything around the fragrances. By thinking in angles, light, shadow, and texture, she creates clarity in form and function. Through this constellation, everything the couple loves about music, art, nature, and design is elaborately told in aromatic form.
