D.S. & Durga is a Brooklyn-based brand whose fragrances tell stories that transport you to distant places. Each fragrance is a fragment of half-remembered myths of pioneers, boundary crossers, and cowboys, imaginary landscapes, salons, and workbenches that invite exploration. According to the founders, the art of a perfume lies not only in quality but also in the handling of the individual components. D.S. stands for David Seth Moltz, who taught himself how to make perfume. He lives his passion of transforming musical and literary spaces into fragrances. This also means that each individual fragrance is conceived and constructed in-house by D.S. & Durga, that is, without intermediaries or interpretation by external perfumers. Kavi (aka Durga) designs everything around the fragrances. By thinking in angles, light, shadow, and texture, she creates clarity in form and function. Through this constellation, everything the couple loves about music, art, nature, and design is elaborately told in aromatic form. All fragrances are invisible soundtracks that can be worn on the body throughout the day. The more you know the stories and events, the deeper you dive into the world of the bottle.
