Kismet derives from the Persian word qismat – “fate.” A term that precisely reflects the attitude behind the brand’s fragrances: moments that feel like coincidence, but ultimately shape a life. Situations, encounters, turning points. Kismet seeks to capture all of this through scent.

Iranian roots, raised in California, trained in Grasse – with Shabnam Tavakol, the founder of Kismet Olfactive, three worlds collide. Her approach was clear from the beginning: fragrances shouldn't just smell good – they should mean something. Each creation is tied to a story or reflects an experience. It can be a place, a person, a feeling, or an entire chapter of life.
What makes it special: many of these moments come directly from the founder’s own life. The result is an intimate olfactory universe – autobiographical in tone, without ever feeling closed off. She is supported by poet Cody Koester, who shapes the brand’s narrative foundation, and designer Melia Tandiono, who is responsible for Kismet’s visual identity.

The fragrances of Kismet Olfactive move between leathery and spicy notes, floral nuances, and creamy, warm elements. What connects them is not a shared olfactive DNA, but a storytelling core. Each scent represents an experience you can instantly picture in your mind. Examples like Nostalgia or Tuberose Tantra show how powerfully the fragrances evoke emotion and memory – sometimes floral, sometimes spicy, sometimes with leathery depth. The short texts on each bottle summarize these stories with precision – a detail that gives the scents their distinctive narrative and visual identity.
All creations are unisex and produced in small batches. You can smell the difference: no industrial uniformity, but artisanal precision that makes every composition feel unique.
