Oil paintings almost anyone familiar with art would recognize – a series of works by Claude Monet depicting water lilies floating in the pond of his garden in Giverny. These paintings are a play of light, color, and reflection – fleeting moments that speak to nature’s constant change and transience. Images you can almost smell: a floral fragrance that explores ambiguity, impermanence, and blurred perception. It recalls a pond covered in blossoms, surrounded by the damp scent of moss and earthy vetiver. A scent that evokes a feeling of familiarity – even if you can’t quite place where it comes from.

All fragrances by Kismet Olfactive are handcrafted in small batches, unfiltered, and made with a high concentration of natural raw materials – slight cloudiness or sediment may occur as a natural result.

Top notes: Pond Water

Kismet Olfactive

Kismet Olfactive creates scents that tell personal stories. The name comes from the Persian qismat – “fate” – reflecting the brand’s philosophy: fleeting moments that may feel random but shape who we are. Behind the brand is Shabnam Tavakol, whose Iranian heritage, Californian upbringing, and training in Grasse unite three distinct worlds. Her vision: perfume shouldn’t just smell good – it should resonate. Each composition is rooted in a real memory – sometimes a place, sometimes a person, sometimes a feeling. She is joined by poet Cody Koester, who shapes the brand’s narrative foundation, and designer Melia Tandiono, who defines its visual identity. All Kismet fragrances are unisex, handcrafted in small batches, and marked by artisanal precision – far from industrial uniformity, and grounded in real life.
