A ship adrift on the open sea, on the verge of sinking – surrounded by roaring waves and salty winds sweeping across the deck. The creeping fear that its crew may soon become part of the ocean’s watery grave, as so many before them. On the horizon, a volcanic island rises, its black, coarse sand absorbing the wild surge of the tide. Black Salt Beach – born of eruption and ruin, home to shadowy figures, dark and eerily captivating. The fragrance opens with a brisk wave of black pepper, lime, tangerine, and eucalyptus – a sharp, salty clarity that evokes storm-lashed shores. At its heart, moist, mineralic notes unfold: jasmine sambac, black water lily, Turkish rose, and smoked sea salt conjure the soaked timbers of an old vessel, washed by the surf. In the base, the scent deepens into earthy, cool, and smoky terrain: seaweed, labdanum, and petrichor lend a haunting weight, like rain falling on volcanic ash.

Is there a sample available for every fragrance?
Yes – we offer a sample of every fragrance in our range, as long as it’s not sold out. If you’d like to explore a whole brand, our Discovery Sets usually bring together some of its most important fragrances in one set.
Is the fragrance in the sample the same as in the original bottle?
Our fragrance samples are decants of 100% original perfumes. Each fragrance is carefully filled directly from the brand’s original bottle into a convenient spray vial. So you’re testing the exact same fragrance you’ll find in the full-size bottle.
How many ml are in each sample?
Each sample you order from us contains at least 1.5ml of fragrance. The glass vial itself holds 3ml, which is why it won’t be filled all the way to the top. So no worries – your 1.5ml are definitely in there.
Why are my fragrance samples filled to different levels?
Since we fill every sample by hand, the fill level may vary slightly from one vial to another. From time to time, we also include a complimentary fragrance sample with your order. These are meant as a little extra to discover something new and therefore contain slightly less than our regular 1.5 mlsamples.
Are the fragrance name and ingredients listed on the sample?
The fragrance name and brand are listed on every sample. If you’d like to learn more about the ingredients, you can find them on the relevant product page in our online shop or on your invoice.
