In 2016, the native Australian Claire Ralston launched MERME Berlin out of her passion for Clean Skincare, which developed during her studies at the Australian College of Natural Beauty. There, she became particularly interested in the effectiveness of non-invasive and natural beauty methods. When she moved to Berlin in 2014, she couldn't find good organic skincare that gave her the desired healthy glow. So she began sourcing the good ingredients herself – MERME was born. Merme was the name of Claire's grandmother, who lived on a cattle farm in northern New South Wales, Australia. Since her childhood, Merme believed in the power of nature and living off the land. As she owned every type of oil for every concern, her nickname inspired the naming of the brand. The focus of MERME Berlin is the philosophy of 'Minimalism in a bottle.'The active ingredients are reduced to their simple, powerful, and 100% effective forms, without hidden fillers, added fragrances, or synthetic substances. Their goal is to create a skincare routine that is simple and effective for everyone, whether a beauty beginner or a beauty junkie who has tried everything and wants to return to the essentials. Through the exploration of nature combined with biotechnological advancements, MERME Berlin is able to develop sustainable and highly effective, pure ingredients. They leverage the benefits of the latest scientific findings to consciously create Clean Skincare products that are vegan, cruelty-free, and non-GMO. It is important to them to keep their impact on the environment as low as possible. This is reflected in their decisions to package their products in recyclable glass, use only vegan and cruelty-free ingredients, avoid any synthetic substances that harm the ecosystem, use reusable organic cotton bags instead of cardboard packaging, and in their mindful shipping practices.
