Spicy, refined and intense.
American Psycho opens with a burst of fresh bergamot – clean and crisp like a tailored suit. The heart notes reveal rich jasmine, combining elegance with an underlying warmth. Cedarwood in the base notes gives the fragrance a soft, woody depth, while subtle hints of vetiver and amber add complexity.
The fragrance is cool, confident and attractive - the perfect embodiment of the sharp, unabashed edge of modern luxury.

This fragrance is a collaboration between 19-69 and the writer Bret Easton Ellis.

Top Notes: Bergamot, Sage, Aqua Accord
Heart Notes: Jasmine, Carnation, Pine, Lily of the Valley
Base Notes: Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Vetiver, Guaiac Wood, Amber

Behind the Fragrance

Johan Bergelin: “In 1991, Bret Easton Ellis published his iconic novel American Psycho to a storm of controversy.
The story revolves around investment banker Patrick Bateman and can be read as social commentary on a society driven by materialism and superficiality. To me, American Psycho is a metaphor for the darker side of the American Dream.
The book significantly impacted pop culture and has developed a cult following and status over the years. In the creation of American Psycho EdP I tapped into a few key elements from the book as well as its subsequent film adaptation released in 2000:
Bateman's vanity rituals, fine sparkling water, icy sorbet and Wall Street in the 1980s. Fragrance notes include Bergamot, Jasmine, Cedarwood.”

American Psycho Fragrance Journey – Page 77

I ask the guy if his name is Ricardo. Hey nods. “Sure.” I ask for a gram, tell him Madison sent me. I pull out my wallet and hand over a fifty and two twenties. He asks the Eurotrash chick for her purse. She hands him a velvet bag by Anne Moore. Ricardo reaches in and hands me a tiny, folded envelope. Before I leave, the Eurotrash girl tells me she likes my gazelleskin wallet. I told her I would like to tit-fuck her and then maybe cut her arms off, but the music, George Michael singing “Faith!” is too loud and she can't hear me.
Back upstairs I find Patricia where I left her, alone at the bar, nursing a Perrier. “Listen, Patrick,” she says, her attitude relenting. “I just want you to know that I'm_____”
“A bitch? Listen, do you want some coke?” I shout, cutting her line off. “Uh, yeah… Sure.” She is wildly confused.
"Come on." I yell, taking her hand. She puts her drink down on the bar and follows me through the deserted club, up the stairs toward the rest rooms. There's really no reason why we couldn't do it downstairs but that seems tacky and so we do most of it in one of the men's room stalls. Back outside the men's room I sit on a couch and smoke some of her cigarettes while she goes downstairs to get us drinks. She comes back apologizing for her behavior earlier this evening. “I mean I loved Barcadia, the food was outstanding, and that mango sorbet, ohmygod I was in heaven. Listen, it's OK that we didn't go to Dorsia. We can always go some other night and I know that you probably tried to get us in but it's just so hot right now. But, oh yeah, I really loved the food at Barcadia. How long has it been open? I think it's been there three, four months. I read a great review in New York or maybe it was Gourmet…”

19-69 Nineteen Sixtynine

The perfume cult brand 19-69 was founded by Swedish artist and product developer Johan Bergelin.  A twenty-four-month creative process with artisans in Scandinavia, France, and Italy led to the launch of 5 perfumes in 2017. Each fragrance is inspired by a different era, culture, or backdrop from Africa, Europe, the USA, and Asia. Art, music, trends, and cultures have shaped the fragrances in terms of content, name, and packaging. All fragrances are suitable for any gender and allow individuals to discover beauty across borders. Johan Bergelin: "The name of the brand 19-69 is a very strong statement. The year 1969 represents an era of freedom, tolerance, and counterculture. It is also the year I was born and my way of wearing my heart on my sleeve and saying: This is real. This is who I am."
