The warm night lies over Cartagena as the last light flickers and the scent of rum, coffee and melted chocolate floats in the air. A syrupy opening of cocoa and dark rum seduces the senses before a heart of soft iris and creamy sandalwood unfolds. Vanilla adds a subtle sweetness, but the dry character of the fragrance is preserved. In the base note, papyrus and vetiver provide an elegant, woody depth that is reminiscent of old libraries and polished wood - a contrast to the lush warmth of the gourmand accord. A dry gourmand fragrance in which the powdery elegance of iris meets the deep bitterness of cocoa and the woody freshness of papyrus.

The fragrances from Bon Parfumeur can be mixed and layered with one another. In our interview with Bon Parfumeur’s founder and art director, Ludovic Bonneton revealed his personal favorite combination: “403” and “502.” Together, these two scents create a harmonious contrast of spicy-warm, fresh, and powdery facets.

Top Notes: Rum, Cocoa, Mandarin Petitgrain
Heart Notes: Iris, Sandalwood, Vanilla, Cedar
Base Notes: Sugar Cane, Papyrus, Vetiver, Coffee

Behind the Fragrance

"The fragrance that took the longest to create. I wanted the Carthaginian night to become a fragrance, to remember forever that magical evening under the stars. A tribute to Colombia and its scents."
- Ludovic Bonneton, founder and art director of Bon Parfumeur

"The challenge was huge. We talked about recreating Ludovic's hometown, an evening under the stars."
- Clément Marx, perfumer
