Early morning in Hanoi — the city stirs to the sounds of traffic and the steam rising from street kitchens, while elsewhere in Ninh Binh, mist still clings to the rice fields. Two places, united by one quiet constant: the scent of freshly cooked jasmine rice drifting through the air. Subtle, warm, familiar. This gently sweet aroma, threaded with a soft, nutty depth, shapes the olfactory memory of Vietnam. Creamy, delicately powdery nuances lend the composition a quiet gourmand quality — understated, never heavy. A fragrance as translation of everyday Vietnamese rituals: intimate, close to the skin, and full of calm.

Behind the Fragrance

"White Rice EDP is intended as a skin scent. Rice's aroma is beautiful, yet so delicate. To emphasize its sweetness and unique essence, we incorporated milky and floral notes such as pandan, jasmine, and white musk. Unlike the amorphous softness of cotton candy, rice grain has structure to it, which we underscored by adding a hint of nuttiness from orris and woody tones."

d'Annam

The Vietnamese brand d’Annam brings the richness of Asia to the skin – through fragrances that are not loud, but deeply resonant. Since 2022, founder Nick Hoang has combined Vietnamese heritage with contemporary perfumery. Even the name carries meaning: “An” stands for serenity, “Nam” refers to Vietnam. Each fragrance is a small journey – inspired by rice terraces, teahouses, or traditional festivals. No clichés, no exotic stereotypes, but finely tuned atmospheres. To ensure culture is not just quoted but meaningfully translated, the brand works closely with artists from each respective region. The result is an authentic, layered portrait that approaches each culture with respect and depth.
