Bohemian Soul – Eau de Parfum – Sample

The road to Montauk simply stops at some point. After that there's nothing but dune grass, a few wooden houses with weathered shingles and the Atlantic. In the late afternoon the cars sit at odd angles along the roadside, boards on the roof, doors open, music coming from an old speaker somewhere. The air smells of salt, warm wood and surf wax, and in between drifts smoke from a fire down on the beach. Nobody is in a hurry, nobody checks the time. You can tell the warm days are coming to an end soon, but nobody minds – because somewhere in the world it's always summer.

Bohemian Soul opens bitter and herbal. The wormwood has something boozy about it, almost like a cold cocktail, with frankincense taking the edge off. Then it turns soft and powdery, the iris comes through, the guaiac wood brings a dry, faintly smoky note with it. Myrrh sits underneath and gives the whole thing a balsamic feel. In the end there's creamy sandalwood and a soft musk that stays close to the skin. What lingers is the impression of cold smoke the next morning, of a jumper that still smells of it, and the last bit of warmth in the embers.
