Gliding past tropical trees and rice paddies, an Indian kettuvallam moves silently through the seemingly endless canals of Kerala’s backwaters. Aboard the traditional houseboat, built from long wooden planks and ropes made of coconut fiber, the air carries notes of spicy pepper and delicate clove leaves, incense, and creamy vanilla. At an unhurried pace, it passes papaya and mango trees, leaving behind coconut palms entwined with pepper vines and lush berry bushes. As it travels through the dense vegetation, warm cedarwood, Akigalawood, and ambery Georgywood rise from the undergrowth before the landscape opens into vast stretches of farmland.

"With Spicy Road, I sought to express the warmth and vitality of Kerala pepper through a woody, spicy composition. Around this spice, I built an accord blending vanilla and incense, enriched with an overdose of Akigalawood with its peppery, spicy facets, to create a balance between intensity and sensuality. This fragrance explores the meeting point between the energy of spices and the addictive depth of woods."
